Just a short note. Perhaps I have a small inkling of homesickness?! Who knew that'd happen to me! It's probably only because London is depriving me of my Chinese food...especially the chinese buns... mm... and egg tarts... oh how I miss those :(
I've started at my new job, and they seem to like my work so far, however, the ppl probably don't like me as a person, cause well, as usual, I don't talk. :^) ah well. Just give me some more time and I may come around and be friendlier. meh
At my job at school (not translating pages anymore, thank goodness!), I haven't raelly dont anythign yet. I'm starting tomorrow pretty much, but I've been in for one whole hour so far, lol, and all I did was read up a bit on the company that is funding the program that has hired me as a workstudy student for the summer. Then I learned a bit more of Flash - I got the blue ball to move across the screen finally! lol. Now, my next big task is to make it follow a motion path... That's tomorrow's task. lol. It's great - i'm getting paid for learning Flash, when I was probably gonna learn it on my own anyway. But when I'm not learning new things, I will be doing some software testing, which is what I applied for. But my employer figures that 201 hours of testing is gonna bore me to death, so if I can learn the language/software that the software is being developed in, I can help debug too - I'm partially looking for it, cause it's my first real computer job (well, that translating languages might have been considered a computer job... but i hated it... and this new job in downtown London doesn't require a computer degree at all to do, so I don't consider it computer related), but I'm also dreading it because I know what it's like to look at someone else's code and try to find the error... oish. Enough of that was done in this past year with group members and prof's code. bleh. ah wells. I guess I'm starting to be submersed into the real world, finally.
Oops, that short note got a bit long.
But before I leave (i dunno how often I'm gonna blog this summer...2 courses and 2 jobs might be a bit busy... but the 2 courses are done at the end of June anyway...), I just wanna mention what I do at my actual job :) hehe
You know if you go to Future Shop's website, and go to their weekly flyer? When you hover over the products, and those little pop ups (sorta like a tool tips) that come up with the details of the product (because the image is too blurry to see) is what I make. Our company does those for several companies, but the only one I've dealt with so far is Future Shop. It's kinda cool! We get to use Acer widescreen LCD monitors :)
Anyway. I have an assn't to get back to. tata!
